Yeah... kind of a long and somewhat checkered history


Founded back in 1895 as a sub-unit of WVU. Became its own thing in 1917. Functioned as a freestanding four year college from about 1931 to 1996 (when it became attached once again to WVU). Moved to Beckley and underwent current "reset" in 2015.

I know more than I should because my mom grew up down the road a bit from Montgomery and had some good friends who attended there.
